BeaconWire is an independent news-explainer site. Our goal is to help readers quickly understand what is happening in a story and why it matters, in plain language.
How We Source Our Explainers
BeaconWire does not send reporters to the scene of a story. Instead, the BeaconWire Editorial Desk compiles explainers by reading and comparing publicly available reporting, official statements, press releases, and public data from named outlets and organizations.
Wherever an article draws on a specific outlet or document, we link it directly. You will find these links in the “Sources & Further Reading” section at the end of each article. If an article does not yet have that section, it means the sourcing for that piece is still being added, and the article should be treated as a general summary rather than a fully sourced explainer.
What “Explained Simply” Means
We do not claim to independently verify every fact in every underlying report we summarize, and we are not a wire service or an eyewitness news organization. “Explained Simply” means we take existing public reporting and organize it into a clear, readable summary — not that we have conducted our own original investigation, unless an article says so explicitly.
Corrections & Updates
Stories evolve. When we learn that something we published is outdated or incorrect, we update the article and note the change. If you believe an article on BeaconWire contains an error, please contact us using the details below and we will review it.
